Vaqueros Tripped Up By Arizona Western

Another great game for Iverson striking out seven in 6.2 while walking only one.
Another great game for Iverson striking out seven in 6.2 while walking only one.

A couple of outstanding baseball games that either team could have won as it took the final inning in both games to find a winner, and it was Arizona Western twice.

It was a two-out Matadors rally with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh for a first game 1-0 loss, and a bases loaded, two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth in game two for a final of 3-2. Nick Trogerlic-Iverson threw another beaut in game one striking out seven and walking one, but Central couldn't get 'em across, and same story in game two. The Vaqueros collected nine hits and Western committed thre errors, but some days despite all the commotion at the plate, they just don't seem to get home. This was one of those days. Armando Aguilar knocked in a run with a double and scored the other in game two.

Back at it Tuesday and Wednesday with a home-and-away versus South Mountain Community College.
