Central Arizona College Men and Women Track and field get ready for the  Regional Championships.
This week, Renique Smith will get CAC started its defense of their 20 straight Regional Championships in the Heptathlon at Mesa CC.  The rest of the team competes next week at Mesa on May 2nd and 4th.  This will be the last meet before both Men and Women's team travel to Nationals in Hutchinson Kansas. 
 
Last weekend, CAC Men and Women finished off regular season competition at UCSD, UTEP, and Mesa College.  Outstanding performances came from Jeminise Parris as she now leads the NJCAA in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.51.  Josephine Anoyke lowered her 200m time to 23.57 putting her 5th in the NJCAA.  Ray Wells, Jr.  qualified in the 100m with a fast time of 10.54.  Josh Boateng threw a lifetime personal best of 56.86 just missing his Grenadian National record held by CAC Alumni Alleyne Lett.  And Candesha Scott furthered her NJCAA lead with a throw of 48.83 in the women's javelin. 
The CAC Men and Women distance runners had a very succesful outing at the Triton Invite. With numerous personal bests for the season.
