Vaqueros Stretch Streak to Six

The CAC baseball squad extended its winning streak to six games with a sweep of conference opponent Arizona Western College. The Vaqueros were led offensively in game one by Manny Ramirez, Jr. In the top of the sixth, Ramirez slugged a two run homer that put the Vaqueros ahead 3-2. Sean Maxon relieved starter Nico Blank, who picked up his fourth win of the year by tossing 5 innings with six strikeouts and allowing 2 runs. Junior Zepeda entered in the bottom half of the seventh and picked up his fourth save of the year.

In game two, the Vaqueros jumped on top early with a four run first inning and a three run second inning in an 11-2 victory. Ramirez continued his hot streak, hitting a three run jack to straightaway centerfield. David Petrino went 2-3 with a double, triple, and two RBI's. Sam Myers picked up the win by going 3.1 innings with 4 punchouts.

The Vaqueros move to 15-4 (8-2) on the season. They will play at Pima Community College Tuesday, March 4th for a doubleheader starting at noon.
