CAC Track & Field rolls in Flagstaff

Central Arizona Track teams traveled to the NAU Skydome this past weekend for an indoor competition.  Three CAC women now lead the NJCAA Rankings in their events. 

In the Women's Weight Throw, Tynelle Gumbs (Pictured on the right) increased her personal best with a throw of 19.70m (64'7.75") and is almost five feet ahead of the second ranked NCJAA weight thrower Trevia Gumbs at 18.01 (59'1.25").  Trevia is pictured on the left. In the Women's shot put, Portious Warren has increased the NJCAA Indoor National Record to 16.16. She is pictured in the middle. 

Magaly Tshipopo now leads the national rankings in the High Jump with a jump of 1.77m or 5'9.75".

On the Men's team, CAC leads four events in the National Rankings after this past weekend. Gilbert Kegin ran a 8:17.38 for 3000M.  Ruebin Walters leads the 60 Hurdles after this weekend running a 7.83.

Eldred Henry, the indoor national record holder in the shot, leads the NJCAA rankings after this weekends 18.05 (59'2.75") throw.  Central's 4x400 Relay also is ranked first in the country with a early season time of 3:11.82.

This week CAC travels to Paradise Valley before hosting a home meet Feb 27th.  Meet starts at 10am
